Welcome to the Home Page for the

Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference

Thank you to all who participated in the Pacific Coast Undergraduate Mathematics Conference!

The conference took place on Saturday, March 25th, 2006 on the campus of Occidental College in Los Angelest, California.  Almost 100 faculty and students participated in the conference, with over half of the attendees being undergraduate students.  The caliber of the student presentations was exceptional!  In all, 21 students gave 15 minute talks which were well received by the conference participants.  Dr. Jennifer Quinn, Executive Director of the Association for Women in Mathematics, gave the keynote address titled "Proofs That Really Count".  Her talk was outstanding!  In addition to the talks, two panel discussions were held - the first about summer opportunities for undergraduate math students and the second about career opportunities for math majors.  Lunch was excellent, morning snacks were sufficient and the homemade cookies in the middle of the afternoon were amazing.  Thank you for helping us to make this event a success!
