ANNOUNCEMENT

Pepperdine University's Seaver College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, located in Malibu, California, invites applications for an appointment as a Visiting Professor of Mathematics for the 2010-2011 academic year. Applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or other mathematical discipline by August, 2010 are desired; however, exceptional applicants with a M.A. or M.S. mathematics or statistics will be considered.

Teaching is our foremost emphasis in Seaver College, and candidates should demonstrate exceptional interest, effectiveness and ingenuity in developing undergraduate students mathematically. Candidates should have the interest and ability to teach a broad range of math classes as teaching duties may include pre-calculus, calculus for math and science majors, calculus and finite mathematics for business majors, and statistics. Located in the diverse metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and Southern California, the Natural Science Division of Pepperdine University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching or service to the diversity and excellence of the University and our surrounding community.   • a curriculum vita;
  • a statement of teaching philosophy;
  • a statement indicating how the candidate will support the Christian mission of the University; and,
  • transcripts of all graduate coursework.
